Can I bring a friend or family member to the consultation? +

Bringing a friend or family member with you is a good idea. It is possible that you will be provided with a lot of information during the consultation and it can be of value to have another person there to help remember the details. If you have any questions leading up to the consultation, please write them down, so Dr Bell can go through them with you.

Do I need to pay for my consultation at the time of my appointment? +

A fee is charged for your initial and any subsequent consultations and payable via EFTPOS on the day. You will receive a rebate from Medicare, which will be processed at your appointment.

Please contact Dr Bell's rooms for any questions you may have about the consultation fees.

Will my health insurance cover my surgery/procedure? +

If you have been recommended to have surgery, you will be provided with an informed financial consent. This document outlines the likely item numbers applicable to your surgery and other potential out-of-pocket costs. You will be required to contact your private health fund to see whether you are covered for these procedures/item numbers and whether there are any additional out-of-pocket costs (including excess payments).

Your surgical fee also includes the initial post-op follow up appointment to the rooms.

Does Dr Bell offer Self-Funded Surgery? +

At this stage Dr Bell does not offer Self-Funded Surgery, but is happy to offer an initial assessment of your problem. If surgery is advised, Dr Bell can facilitate a referral to her public outpatient clinic at Ipswich Hospital for further management (if you are based within the West Moreton Health catchment area).
